Quorum International Celebrates 45th Anniversary

Founded in 1981 as Dav Imports in Fort Worth, Texas, the company has grown from a niche ceiling fan supplier into an internationally recognized source for innovative lighting and coordinated décor collections.
Quorum entered the market at a pivotal moment, as ceiling fans were transitioning from simple mechanical appliances to design-driven interior elements. Building on this momentum, the company expanded its product offerings in the early 1990s to include decorative lighting, introducing pendants, chandeliers, and outdoor designs that complemented its growing ceiling fan portfolio.
Quorum’s growth has also been supported by its expanding family of affiliated brands. In 1996, the company introduced Cristal Lighting, a line of elevated glass fixtures known for their refined and elegant aesthetic. This was followed in 2000 by the launch of Oxygen, now Oxygen by Quorum, offering performance-driven architectural and commercial lighting. Continuing its diversification, Quorum introduced Cyan Design in 2003, a brand specializing in decorative accessories and furniture that complemented the company’s expanding lighting collections.
In 2022, Quorum further broadened its reach with the introduction of Mainstreet, a line of builder-grade lighting and fans designed to meet the needs of value-driven residential and commercial projects. This expansion followed a pivotal moment in 2021, when Quorum strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of José Lopez as President, marking an important step in the company’s ongoing evolution.
As part of Lopez’s leadership and vision to elevate Quorum’s design presence, the company also began collaborating with well-known industry personalities. In 2022, Quorum partnered with celebrity designer Tamara Day, co-developing exclusive lighting collections that blend her signature aesthetic with Quorum’s craftsmanship and design expertise.
Most recently, in 2024, Quorum unveiled Lavin Rugs, a curated collection of area rugs crafted to complete home decor stories across styles and price points.
Together, these brands and strategic partnerships enable Quorum International to serve a broad spectrum of market segments while delivering cohesive, multi-category design solutions for retailers, designers, and builders nationwide.
Quorum continues to expand its footprint in major industry markets. For decades, the company has showcased new product introductions at Dallas Lightovation, and in 2025, it unveiled a new showroom at High Point Market, further underscoring its commitment to supporting designers, retailers, and hospitality partners nationwide.
